The Server Assistant role at Sortino’s Italian Kitchen, one of the resort’s premier dining establishments, plays a vital part in delivering the signature Kalahari guest experience. This position is centered around providing friendly and responsive service that goes beyond expectations, helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for diners. As a member of the team, the Server Assistant will actively uphold the Kalahari Promise and support the service culture of the restaurant.
In this role, the Server Assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area, ensuring tables and seating are pristine and inviting between guest visits. This includes handling dirty tableware efficiently by transporting items to the dish room and arranging them appropriately for washing. Additionally, responsibility extends to frequent restroom inspections and upkeep to guarantee comfort and hygiene standards are met consistently.
Collaboration and communication are critical elements of the position, with the Server Assistant working closely with servers, hosts, and management to ensure smooth restaurant operations and an exceptional dining experience. Flexibility to step in and assist wherever needed is essential to support the team during busy times. Job Requirements

- Experience in restaurant, hotel, resort, or customer service helpful

Job Duties
- Take dirty tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in the appropriate areas for washing
- Between seating, promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths
- Check floors and clean them as required
- Reset and arrange tabletop
- Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean and replenish supplies as needed and/or alert the common area cleaners of problem areas
- Communicate with server and hostess/host to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
