The position available is for a Server Assistant / Server at LORO, Asian Smokehouse + Bar, an integral part of Hai Hospitality. This role is critical to the Front of House operations, serving as the backbone that helps maintain high levels of service throughout the dining experience. The Server Assistant supports the team by attentively monitoring the dining room, expo line, and bar areas, acting as the primary food runner and handling responsibilities such as cleaning and resetting tables. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth, as fully trained Server Assistants can progress into Bartender positions, which brings increased responsibilities and wages. The role requires excellent communication skills, physical stamina, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Server Assistant will receive comprehensive training, including knowledge of the menu, specials, and beverage offerings. They will additionally assist bartenders and provide curbside delivery services, enhancing the overall guest experience. This dynamic position offers a pathway to grow within a reputable hospitality group that prioritizes employee development and recognition.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees
  • Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards
  • Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs
  • Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
  • Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives
  • Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of surfaces
  • Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs
  • Ability to work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area
  • Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors
  • Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming
  • Understand directives and communicate effectively with leadership and coworkers

Job Duties

  • Acquaint yourself with the menu, current specials, and cuisine
  • Learn about beer, wine, and cocktails through peer-led beverage training
  • Be present and active on the floor assisting with running side work
  • Bus and reset tables, polish glassware, stock supplies
  • Assist bartenders with all aspects of service to enhance the guest experience
  • Deliver food to guests and explain each dish
  • Receive, organize, and deliver curbside orders to guests waiting outside
