The Server Assistant role at TC Restaurants is a key position within their front-of-house operations. This position supports the restaurant servers by assisting in food and beverage service to guests in high-volume, lively environments that incorporate live entertainment and bar settings. The Server Assistant works directly alongside servers to enhance the overall guest experience by anticipating guest needs, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring efficient and timely service. This role demands understanding of the food and bar menus, procedures for host and support staff, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards to guarantee that every guest has a wonderful and unique visit. As a tipped position, the Server Assistant earns a base pay of $12.00 per hour with a typical combined wage including tips ranging from $30 to $35 per hour, making this role a financially rewarding opportunity for individuals interested in the hospitality industry.

In this position, Server Assistants play a vital part in maintaining exceptional service standards through a variety of duties including preparing and sanitizing tables, supporting servers in delivering orders accurately and promptly, managing their work area for cleanliness and organized supplies, and maintaining a positive rapport with management and team members. They must communicate effectively with guests and colleagues, respond courteously to guest inquiries, and keep the service areas free of clutter. This position requires the ability to stand and move throughout a shift, handle lifting up to 25 pounds and moving objects up to 50 pounds, and work under varying indoor and outdoor conditions including exposure to temperature fluctuations, noise, and other typical environmental factors of a fast-paced nightlife setting. Work schedules can include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and potentially overtime with management approval, offering flexibility for varied candidates. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Adhere to and enforce company, local, state, and government specific regulations
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required for this position
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Work will include indoor and/or outdoor areas with the ability to withstand high and low temperatures
  • Work may be performed in small areas with 3 ft. access
  • Schedule could exceed 30 hours per week and may include overtime when approved
  • Work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to be exposed to nightlife environmental factors such as second-hand smoke, noise, flashing/strobe lights, and stress related to guest interaction

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus
  • Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal form

  • Basic math and order reading skills

Job Duties

  • Assist restaurant servers in tasks necessary to maintain their tables and assist their guests throughout the visit
  • Provide friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful service of food and beverage in accordance with established quality and time standards
  • Have complete knowledge of the food and bar menus as well as a complete understanding of host and support staff procedures
  • Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and set-up
  • Sanitize tabletops and chairs as well as floor area around them
  • Understand and read a food or beverage order
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards including proper temperature
  • Confirm that each order has appropriate preparation, plate/glassware, garnish, presentation, necessary serving utensils and is complete before taking it to a guest
  • Say the name of food and beverages delivered to guests
  • Carry dishes from bars and tables to kitchen dish area
  • Maintain a good rapport with the FOH and BOH management teams
  • Inform management of any complaint, comments, or incidents
  • Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in both written and verbal form
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous, knowledgeable, and polite manner
  • Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work areas throughout shift
  • Keep all tabletops, floors, and service areas clear/free of dirty glasses and any unnecessary items throughout shift
  • Keep service station and service equipment storage organized
  • Ensure daily/nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed
  • Clean all spills and waste immediately
  • Sweep and mop as needed
  • Place all trash in proper receptacles
  • Observe and anticipate guest’s needs, deliver all items to guests in a timely and accurate fashion while managing time effectively with minimum supervision
  • Adhere to all departmental appearance and uniform standards while maintaining professionalism
  • Follow all company and department policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
