Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 plus years server assistance experience required in fine dining or upscale restaurant
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have San Diego County Food Handlers Card obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Serve safe certificate preferred
  • Completion of anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour class
  • Able to sit, stand or walk for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and properly
  • Able to bend, stoop and climb
  • Able to push and pull

Job Duties

  • Work with servers to create a great energy and atmosphere
  • Greet each guest with a good attitude and a smile
  • Take out trash and keep the restaurant clean and organized free of dirty plates and glassware
  • Run food to tables and ensure guests receive their correct order
  • Handle food in a timely manner to ensure optimal temperature
  • Have a great understanding of the menu and what is in each dish
  • Fill water glasses when necessary
  • Clear empty food plates when guests are finished
  • Wipe down and sanitize tables when guests are done eating
  • Keep the restaurant stocked with adequate supplies such as plates, napkins, silverware, and glasses
  • Help with dishes when backed up
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and understand the importance of damage control
