Job Description

The Autograph Collection, part of Marriott International, is a prestigious and rapidly expanding collection of four and five-star independent hotels. Each hotel in this portfolio is meticulously selected based on its superior quality, originality, distinctive character, and ability to offer guests unique and memorable experiences. Autograph Collection hotels cater to "The Individualist," a discerning traveler who seeks more than just a place to stay. These travelers choose our hotels for personal or corporate stays because they value distinctive experiences that contribute to their personal narratives and sense of adventure. Joining the Autograph Collection means becoming part of a diverse and dynamic portfolio within Marriott International, a global leader in hospitality known for its commitment to quality, inclusivity, and service excellence.

Located in the vibrant coastal city of Newport Beach, California, the Lido House Autograph Collection hotel is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join their team in the role of Food and Beverage Server within the Lobby Lounge. This full-time, non-management position offers a competitive pay rate of $16.90 per hour, along with tip eligibility and service charge compensation. The role primarily involves serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests, ensuring high standards of service that align with Marriott’s renowned hospitality values. Responsibilities include setting tables appropriately for various events, assisting guests with menu selections, and maintaining clear and professional communication with the kitchen staff concerning orders, allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests. The server will utilize the MICROS system for order transactions and will consistently follow up with guests to guarantee satisfaction with their meal and beverage experience.

In addition to delivering exceptional guest service, the role demands meticulous attention to cleanliness and organization in work areas, including the care of china and glassware. The position also encompasses completing closing duties such as restocking and shutting down service areas. Candidates must adhere to company policies and safety procedures, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents to management, while also maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality standards. This position involves engaging guests in a welcoming and respectful manner, supporting colleagues to achieve team goals, and conforming to quality and safety standards. Physical demands of the job include extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking, the capability to handle objects up to 25 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance, and navigating various flooring surfaces and stairs. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to a team-oriented environment at one of Newport Beach’s premier luxury hotels. Marriott International fosters an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and ensures equal opportunity for all employees, underpinning its reputation as a leading employer in the hospitality industry.
