Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior full-service dining or catering experience
  • ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • willingness to work occasional off-shift hours
  • capacity to lift up to 25 pounds
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • excellent communication skills
  • commitment to punctuality and reliability
  • adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Provide excellence in service to the Business and Corporate Events team
  • ensure cleanliness of the kitchen and observe all safety and sanitation procedures
  • lift items up to 25 pounds as required
  • stand for long periods during shifts
  • maintain a professional atmosphere with all faculty, staff, peers, and visitors
  • demonstrate personal responsibility for accuracy and punctuality
  • maintain neat and professional appearance by wearing a clean uniform
  • act professionally and maintain confidentiality
  • communicate effectively and courteously with all levels of staff and external contacts
  • work overtime when required
  • ensure delivery, set-up, and clean-up of catered activities on multiple floors
  • inform supervisor of any operational problems
  • disseminate kitchen operations expectations to support staff
  • execute set-up, service, and clean-up of catered functions with limited supervision
  • ensure all equipment, linens, service ware, and glassware are clean and sanitized prior to use
