This position is for a Server within the San Francisco Yacht Club, reporting directly to the Food & Beverage (F&B) Manager. The role is hourly, with compensation ranging from $16.90 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience, alongside service charges. Servers at the San Francisco Yacht Club are expected to have thorough knowledge of the menu, including recipes and ingredients, and to be adept at timing service for each course to ensure a seamless dining experience. The ability to personalize service by learning members’ names and preferences, combined with an understanding of wines and spirits, is crucial. You will be responsible for setting up side stations, attending pre-shift meetings, greeting and acknowledging members and guests promptly, and providing detailed information about the menu and specials. Additionally, servers ensure the safety and comfort of children, efficiently serve food and drinks, check for satisfaction, handle billing accurately, and maintain cleanliness in service areas.

This position demands physical stamina as it requires standing and walking for extended periods, navigating stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. A strong commitment to following all local and state laws, particularly concerning the service of alcoholic beverages, is required, as well as adherence to the club’s policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of comparable server experience and possess excellent communication skills in English.
