Job Description

Renaissance Baton Rouge is a distinguished hotel that blends Southern hospitality with upscale decor and a suite of convenient amenities designed to offer guests a memorable stay. Located approximately 15 miles from the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, the hotel enjoys an ideal location with easy access to premier destinations such as the Mall of Louisiana, Perkins Rowe, Louisiana State University, and the Country Club of Louisiana. This prime positioning allows guests to indulge in an array of shopping, dining, and entertainment options in the vicinity. Renaissance Baton Rouge prides itself on providing a welcoming atmosphere where guests can retreat to spacious and modern hotel rooms and suites. These accommodations are thoughtfully appointed with luxurious bedding, flat-panel televisions, and mini-refrigerators, ensuring comfort and convenience during their stay. Additionally, guests can enjoy upscale dining experiences either via room service or at the hotel's on-site restaurant, known for its exceptional cuisine and attentive service.

We are currently seeking part-time Restaurant Servers to join our dedicated team, reporting to the Outlet Manager or Supervisor. The role of Restaurant Server at Renaissance Baton Rouge is crucial in delivering the highest quality of service to our guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. This position demands the ability to stand for the entire shift and to navigate the dining area while carrying full trays of food and beverages safely and professionally. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and delivering guest orders promptly, collecting payments accurately, and handling cashiering functions such as closing checks and preparing end-of-shift paperwork. A thorough knowledge of the menu items and current specials, as well as familiarity with the point-of-sale (P.O.S.) system, is essential to provide exceptional service and communicate offerings effectively to guests.

Moreover, our servers are expected to be well-versed in the organization of the restaurant, lounges, and room service operations, understanding the role and function of each job position, and working collaboratively to maintain an efficient and harmonious environment. Essential duties include pre-busing tables by removing soiled dishes between courses, performing opening and closing procedures according to station rotations and established checklists, and breaking down trays of soiled dishes and linens in the dishroom following set standards. In addition to these responsibilities, servers must consistently promote upselling of food, beverages, and promotional items to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
