The role of a Server at SSP America is pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing the guest dining experience. Servers are the frontline representatives who interact directly with customers, helping to create memorable visits through attentive and efficient service. This role includes answering questions and making suggestions about the menu items, accurately entering orders into the point of sale (POS) system, and preparing certain dishes such as soups, salads, desserts, and beverages like coffee. Servers also observe guests closely to anticipate their needs, promptly respond to additional requests, and handle checkouts by balancing and reconciling bills.

This position offers competitive compensation with a base wage starting at $6 per hour plus tips, presenting an earning potential of up to $25 or more per hour on average. Employees benefit from predictable schedules, with most restaurant locations closing by 9 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life routine. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of restaurant serving experience
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • Experience in customer service
  • Basic math skills
  • Food handler's permit if required
  • Brand certification if required
  • Ability to memorize menu items
  • Keyboard and POS operation skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods in confined spaces

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience in restaurant serving
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Experience in customer service problem-solving
  • Basic mathematical skills for cash handling
  • Valid food handler's permit as required by law
  • Brand certification as required
  • Ability to memorize and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and POS system
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods

Job Duties

  • Answer questions and offer suggestions regarding food, beverages, and services of the facility
  • Accurately input orders into the POS system
  • Prepare dishes for service, to include ladling soup, tossing salads, cutting portions of pie and desserts, and brewing coffee
  • Observe guests to anticipate their needs and respond to any additional requests
  • Clear all dishes away from table
  • Balance and reconcile all assigned open and closed checks by totaling bills and accepting payments
  • Clear and reset all counters or tables at the conclusion of each course
  • Other duties as assigned
