The establishment emphasizes a high standard of service known as Platinum Service®, which signifies a commitment to courteous, responsive, and quality service delivered flawlessly, timely, and in a caring manner. Working as a Server in this context means being part of a team that strives daily to meet and exceed the expectations of residents and guests, ensuring each dining experience is memorable and satisfying.
The Server position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Although specific salary details are not provided, the role involves physical activity, including frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying items up to 50 pounds. The job also requires the Server to follow all health and safety regulations rigorously, including sanitary procedures, to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. As part of delivering Platinum Service®, the Server interacts closely with residents, guests, family members, and the broader community, demonstrating tact, professionalism, and empathy especially when working with elderly, disabled, or emotionally upset individuals.
Duties in this role include taking meal orders, serving food and beverages, setting up dining areas, and assisting residents with meal-related needs, such as opening containers and pouring beverages. The Server also supports special community events by preparing and delivering snacks and helps with cleaning and maintaining the dining area according to established schedules. This multifaceted role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to make independent decisions while following instructions. The position requires compliance with applicable state and federal regulations as well as a preference for candidates with experience in food service or hospitality.
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities but plays an integral part in supporting the culinary team and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for all residents. It requires exposure to various environmental conditions such as heat and cold from kitchen equipment and potential contact with infectious diseases or hazardous chemicals, highlighting the importance of safety awareness and personal protective practices. The Server must also adhere strictly to organizational policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and departmental manuals. Overall, this position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to a vibrant community setting while developing valuable skills in hospitality and customer service within a structured, supportive environment.
