Job Duties

  • Escort guests to their tables when needed
  • Review MVP program with all guests
  • Demonstrate strong MVP program knowledge
  • Review menus with guests and answer questions about menu items
  • upsell to improve the dining experience and raise check average
  • Write guest food orders on order pads and repeat the order back to the guest
  • Input guest orders accurately into POS system
  • Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Check guests' identification to ensure minimum age requirements for alcoholic beverages
  • Collect payments from guests
  • Remove dishes and glasses from tables and take to kitchen for cleaning during and after the guests visit
  • Clean and reset tables after guests finish dining
  • Assist host or hostess by answering phones, taking to-go orders, greeting, seating, and thanking guests
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying server station, taking out trash, and cleaning bathrooms
  • Roll silverware, set up food stations, and set up dining areas for the next shift or large parties
  • Stock service areas with supplies including coffee, tea, beverages, napkins, and side plates
  • Fill salt and pepper shakers and wipe down table tents throughout the shift
  • Ask guests to leave a review
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach to coworkers and customers
