Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- experience in dietary service or food handling preferred
- must pass state-mandated criminal background check
- tuberculosis (TB) clearance as required by the state
- first aid and CPR certifications as required by the state
- valid food handlers card and ServSafe certificate
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- must be at least 18 years of age
- ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods
- ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently
- commitment to maintaining kitchen cleanliness and food safety
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, nights, and on-call shifts as needed
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- skill in preparing and serving a wide range of foods
- maintain professional demeanor under stress
- recognize needs and assist others without prompting
- relate well with employees and residents
- proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- experience with elderly dietary needs
- experience preferred in long-term care or related community
- possession of required state certifications including tuberculosis clearance, first aid and CPR certifications, and criminal background check
- valid food handlers card and ServSafe certificate
- able to spend long periods on feet
- knowledge of health and safety rules in food preparation
Job Duties
- Prepare in uniform with a positive attitude
- greet residents by name and ensure table readiness
- treat residents and visitors with dignity and respect
- distribute menus and present daily specials
- answer questions about the menu
- take and deliver food and beverage orders to the kitchen
- reject food that does not meet quality standards
- deliver food, beverages, and condiments
- ensure food is prepared correctly and to satisfaction
- collect plates and clear tables
- assist with cleaning the dining area and preparing utensils and condiments
- prepare and serve hot and cold beverages
- describe product details to customers
- serve prepared foods and baked goods
- stock customer service stations
- clean and sanitize all equipment and work areas
- ensure proper function of freezers and refrigerators
- prepare and store food
- stock and inventory supplies
- participate in deep cleaning schedules
- perform other duties as assigned
