The Server role at Kindling is pivotal to the restaurant's success in maintaining an outstanding guest experience. Servers at Kindling are entrusted with managing their sections—whether on the main floor, patio, rooftop, or private dining areas—to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include greeting and interacting warmly with guests, taking and accurately entering orders, and being knowledgeable about menu items to offer personalized recommendations. The Server acts as the direct link between the kitchen, bar, and guests, ensuring every order is timely, accurate, and attentive to special requests and dietary considerations.
In addition to order-taking, Servers frequently check on their tables to confirm guests are delighted with their experience and assist in various supportive roles, including helping the busser and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous restaurant serving experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle cash and process credit card transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to tolerate allergens such as peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS systems
- Basic math skills for handling payments

Job Duties
- Greet and spiel each table in a warm and welcoming manner
- Make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages
- Take food and beverage orders from guests
- Write down orders, repeat them, and enter them correctly into the POS
- Frequently check in on your tables to ensure they are enjoying all aspects of their experience
- Accept guest payments, process credit cards and make change (if applicable)
- Assist your busser and other team members in clearing plates and silverware or running food and drinks to ensure all guests have a great experience
- Learn all of the ingredients and allergies in our food and drink menu
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
- Assist the restocking and replenishment of restaurant inventory and supplies
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant Manager or immediate supervisor
- Complying with health and food safety standards, restocking items and cleaning
- Provide great customer service and follow Fifty50 Restaurant Group policies and procedures
- Be positive, upbeat and personable at all times while working
- Be able to stay calm and collected in what could at sometimes be a stressful environment
- Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed
- Be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently
- Will frequently reach, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data
- Work in both warm and cool environments
- High levels of noise from music, guest and employee traffic
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
