Job Requirements
- ability to stand and/or walk throughout entire shift and work in restaurant environment
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to talk or hear in person and by telephone
- uses hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate restaurant equipment
Job Qualifications
- 6 months to 2 years related experience preferred
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- alcohol certification required
- food handlers certificate as required
- ability to see, hear, read, and write in English
- basic math and verbal communication skills
- ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal directions
- ability to speak clearly and listen attentively
- possess basic math skills and handle money and operate point-of-sale system
- ability to manage workflow and resolve issues with supervisor
Job Duties
- know and follow posted schedule and strict adherence to posted clock in/out times
- adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
- timely and courteous service to guests in assigned and other tables
- thorough knowledge of menu items, wines, beers, and cocktails
- adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- maintain a clean and organized workstation
- maintain friendly, helpful, positive attitude
- know and follow restaurant operating policies
- adhere to steps of service
- welcome and greet guests following service guidelines
- assist fellow team members in meeting guest needs
- answer questions and make recommendations about food, beverages, features, and services
- understand process for serving guests with allergens
- take and confirm food and beverage orders accurately
- follow alcohol awareness procedures and notify manager when necessary
- deliver food and beverages to guests
- assist other bartenders and servers
- monitor guest dining experience ensuring satisfaction
- pre-bus tables throughout the dining experience
- prepare final bill, present check, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change
- turn in cash and vouchers daily following cash handling procedures
- thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
- participate in clearing and resetting tables
- assist other staff as needed
- perform all assigned side work and cleaning duties
- carry out other duties as assigned by management
- attend company meetings and training seminars
- perform duties according to employee handbook and dress/grooming guidelines
- keep supervisor informed of guest service issues and take corrective action
- treat all guests, team members, and managers with respect and courtesy
- maintain friendly and cooperative attitude
- portray favorable image of the restaurant
