Established as a premier franchise operator, the company upholds the core values and spirit of the Outback Steakhouse brand, which opened its doors in March 1988. Outback Steakhouse is widely recognized for its Australian-themed cuisine, friendly atmosphere, and commitment to quality food and service. The company prides itself on a culture of respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm, fostering an environment where both employees and guests feel valued and appreciated. Out West Restaurant Group’s approach revolves around treating people "Just Right," a philosophy that ensures every customer is treated like a guest in their own home and every employee, affectionately called "Outbackers," is given the tools and training to succeed.
This opportunity is for a non-exempt, hourly position at a rate of $16.90 per hour plus tips. The role is suited to individuals who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented restaurant environments and who want more than just a job—they want a career with growth potential. As an Outbacker, you will be instrumental in creating memorable first and lasting impressions for all customers. Your duties will span from delivering friendly, prompt, and attentive service to upholding the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation. You’ll develop a strong knowledge of the menu, confidently making recommendations and upselling to enhance every guest’s dining experience. The position also involves preparing food and condiments to Outback standards, ensuring accurate order delivery, and supporting all restaurant areas as required, highlighting the importance of teamwork.
Beyond the daily responsibilities, Out West Restaurant Group champions employee growth through training and advancement programs, including an extensive Shift Leader program designed to enhance leadership skills and career progression. Employees enjoy a hospitable working culture that recognizes hard work and leadership, along with various scheduling options to balance work and personal life. Unique perks include meal discounts, a company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program, and the fact that the restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, allowing team members time with family and friends. The company is committed to fairness and equality, strictly adhering to California’s labor laws and providing reasonable accommodations as required by law. They also emphasize equal pay and a safe workplace climate where all employees have the opportunity to thrive.
Joining Out West Restaurant Group means becoming part of a well-respected franchise group ranked among the Top 50 Franchisees in the U.S. for four consecutive years and recognized with the International Franchise Association’s Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022 for community service excellence. Out West actively contributes to non-profit organizations like California Care and CORE, which support restaurant employees and their families in challenging times. If you seek a rewarding role with career growth, community involvement, and a supportive work environment, becoming an Outbacker could be the perfect fit for you.
