Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established restaurant chain founded in 1969, known for its inviting country hospitality, delicious food, and a unique combination of dining and retail experiences. With over 70,000 team members across the nation, Cracker Barrel has created a welcoming environment that feels like home for its guests. The company values community, connection, and genuine care, reflected in every aspect of its service. Cracker Barrel isn’t just about serving meals; it’s about creating memorable moments that bring people together, whether that's through warm greetings, the freshly baked biscuits, or attentive service. The company prides itself on its strong roots and commitment to hospitality, making every guest feel appreciated and valued.
The Server position at Cracker Barrel plays a critical role in delivering that hospitality. Servers are more than just waitstaff; they are the heart of the guest experience. This role involves engaging with guests in a friendly, attentive manner that goes beyond the basics of taking orders—it’s about anticipating needs, showing appreciation, and creating an atmosphere where guests feel cared for. Servers manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude and a team-first mindset. No prior restaurant experience is required, as Cracker Barrel provides comprehensive training through its industry-leading PAR (Peers, Attitude, Restaurant) program starting from day one.
This role offers competitive weekly pay with same-day pay access, encouraging a stable and rewarding financial opportunity. The tipping system is straightforward—100% of tips belong to the server, with no tip sharing. This policy underlines the value and importance of the server’s direct efforts. Beyond pay, Cracker Barrel also prioritizes employee well-being. Health insurance eligibility begins from the first day for both full- and part-time employees, along with vacation time and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Additional benefits include a 401(k) plan with company matching after 90 days, an Employee Stock Purchase Program, and various employee discounts, including a significant discount on food and retail items and exclusive 'Biscuit Perks' for discounts on home, travel, and more.
Cracker Barrel fosters a culture of belonging where support starts immediately with onboarding, training, recognition programs, and employee events that build camaraderie and community. This holistic approach ensures servers not only excel in their roles but genuinely thrive within the company. Joining Cracker Barrel means finding a place where you can grow your skills, be part of a supportive team, and contribute meaningfully each day. It’s more than a job—it’s being part of a company that cares about every moment and every person. If you enjoy creating positive guest experiences, have a collaborative spirit, and bring energy to your work, Cracker Barrel invites you to apply and join their good company family.
