At SSP America, we are currently hiring Servers to join our team at the 1933 Lounge and HC Tavern By St. Elmo within the Indianapolis International Airport. This role is pivotal as servers directly impact customer satisfaction and overall service quality. Servers are tasked with engaging customers by answering questions about the menu, making thoughtful suggestions regarding food and beverages, and ensuring that guests have a seamless dining experience. The role requires attention to detail, a welcoming demeanor, and the ability to multitask efficiently, especially in a fast-paced airport setting.

Servers at SSP America can expect a rewarding compensation package starting at $4 per hour plus tips, with earning potential averaging up to $25 or more per hour. We offer predictable schedules, with most restaurant operations concluding by 9 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life routine.   • high school diploma preferred
  • verbal and written communication
  • ability to read, speak, and understand English
  • experience in dealing with customer service problems
  • basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops
  • food handlers permit as required by law
  • brand certification as required
  • ability to remember and promote menu items
  • ability to operate keyboard and point of sale systems
  • ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Answer questions and offer suggestions regarding food, beverages, and services of the facility
  • accurately input orders into the POS system
  • prepare dishes for service, to include ladling soup, tossing salads, cutting portions of pie and desserts, and brewing coffee
  • observe guests to anticipate their needs and respond to any additional requests
  • clear all dishes away from table
  • balance and reconcile all assigned open and closed checks by totaling bills and accepting payments
  • clear and reset all counters or tables at the conclusion of each course
  • other duties as assigned
