Job Description

This opportunity is for the role of a Server within the Food and Beverage Department at the RoofTop Bistro. The position operates from 3 pm to 11 pm and offers an hourly starting wage of $16.90 plus tips. The server role is integral to the restaurant's mission by ensuring each guest receives a friendly, attentive, and personalized dining experience. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage Manager and the Food and Beverage Supervisor, the Server is responsible for selling and serving food and drinks professionally and courteously, receiving guests with a warm welcome and aiming to exceed customer expectations through diligent and responsive service.

In this role, you will engage in a variety of essential functions that touch every aspect of the guest experience. Duties include greeting and acknowledging patrons, providing detailed explanations about menu items, taking accurate food and beverage orders, and entering these orders into the POS system to ensure accuracy and efficiency. You will maintain cleanliness and organization within the dining area, anticipate guests' needs proactively, and ensure that all requests are met promptly. Additionally, the Server prepares and presents bills, processes payments, and handles credit card transactions, contributing to smooth and error-free checkout processes.

The position demands excellent communication and multitasking skills alongside a basic familiarity with point-of-sale technology and drink recipes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring responsible alcohol service, including checking IDs to verify legal drinking age, monitoring guest behavior related to alcohol consumption, and intervening when necessary by offering alternatives such as taxi services. Job Duties

  • monitor the behavior of guests that are consuming alcohol and count number of drinks served
  • offer taxi to patrons that should not drive and alert a manager to intervene if necessary
  • report to work in a neat and clean uniform
  • keep hair well-groomed and practice good hygiene
  • complete required training and pass test for responsible service of alcohol
