The role of Server within Converge Hospitality Group is essential to the overall success and smooth operation of their dining services. As a Server, you will be responsible for waiting on and serving food to restaurant guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. This position requires a high level of customer interaction, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Your duties will include presenting menus, answering questions about the dishes and services offered, and making thoughtful suggestions to enhance the dining experience. Accurate order taking is critical, whether you write it down or memorize it, and you will relay these orders promptly to the kitchen or bar via the point-of-sale (POS) system.

Your role extends beyond basic food service; you will observe guests attentively to address additional needs and recognize when their meal is complete. Assistance may also be provided to kitchen staff by performing tasks such as ladling soup, tossing salads, portioning desserts, or brewing coffee, depending on the restaurant's needs. Cleanliness and orderliness are crucial, and you will be expected to clear and reset tables efficiently and maintain cleanliness in all work areas throughout your shift. Moreover, this role requires teamwork and collaboration with the hotel staff to ensure guests receive a memorable service experience. Handling guest requests personally or escalating them appropriately is also part of your responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Present menu, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and service
  • write order on check or memorize it
  • relay and/or enter order into POS system for the kitchen and serve courses from kitchen and/or bar
  • observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meal has been completed
  • assist kitchen staff by ladling soup, tossing salad, portioning desserts, brewing coffee, and performing other services as needed
  • clear and reset counters and tables at conclusion of each guest
  • maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures
  • work with the hotel team to create and deliver a memorable service experience for guests
  • handle guest requests personally and/or refer to another team member as appropriate
  • provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times in a warm and enthusiastic manner
  • maintain a professional image at all times through action, appearance and dress
  • follow company policies and procedures
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
