The role of Server at Jalapeno Tree is a key position responsible for ensuring a memorable dining experience for all guests. This position involves greeting and welcoming guests with friendliness and professionalism, providing detailed information about the menu and daily specials, and making personalized recommendations based on guest preferences. A Server takes accurate food and drink orders, carefully noting any special requests or dietary restrictions, and communicates these efficiently to the kitchen staff. Timely delivery of food and beverages is essential, as is maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Throughout the dining experience, the Server actively monitors guest needs, refilling drinks, clearing empty plates, and keeping tables clean and organized, contributing to a pleasant and smooth service flow. Handling payments through cash or credit transactions with accuracy and professionalism is also a critical responsibility. Should any guest issues or complaints arise, the Server is expected to address them calmly and effectively, escalating unresolved matters to management when necessary. Additional duties include maintaining cleanliness and organization of the server station and other workspaces, following all health and safety standards, and assisting with opening and closing sidework tasks.

- Ability to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle cash and credit transactions
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- TABC Certification for serving alcohol
- Texas Food Handlers Certification

Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide information about the menu, specials, and make recommendations accordingly
- Take accurate food and drink orders from guests, ensuring that special requests and dietary/allergy restrictions are communicated to the kitchen
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure that orders are delivered accurately and meet the restaurant's quality standards
- Monitor and attend to guests' needs throughout their meal
- Refill drinks, clear empty plates, and ensure that tables are clean and organized
- Present checks to guests, process payments, and handle cash and credit transactions accurately
- Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues with professionalism and efficiency
- Escalate any unresolved issues to management as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the server station, dining area, and other workspaces
- Ensure that all health and safety standards are followed
- Assist with opening and closing duties and sidework as assigned
