As a Server at Perkins, you will play an essential role in ensuring guests receive friendly, efficient service aligned with company policies and high standards. This evening shift position, covering dinners, nights, and weekends from 3pm to 11pm, provides an opportunity to join a successful and growing team. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in customer service or food service preferred but not required
Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
Good communication skills
Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems accurately
Physical ability to stand, walk, carry weights, and perform duties as described
Commitment to personal hygiene and professional appearance
Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
Reliable and punctual
Willingness to learn and follow company procedures and policies.

Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service taught through in-house training
Trustworthy
can be relied upon to deal with payment of guest checks and operate cash register
Must be able to communicate clearly
Must have a high level of mobility and flexibility
Ability to work under heavy stress and pressure during peak hours
Must possess a high level of coordination
Must be able to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet
Must be able to fit through an opening 30 inches wide
Requires frequent reaching, bending, pushing and pulling
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
Willingness to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.

Job Duties

Reports to work well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform and practices good personal hygiene
Greets all guests in a kind, courteous and respectable way
Accountable for proper handling of cash, credit card information, gift cards and all things related to the payment of guest checks
Takes verbal drink and meal orders according to guest preference
Serves high quality food and checks all orders to ensure they are complete, prepared as ordered, portioned correctly and attractive in appearance
Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause food borne illness
Maintains cleanliness of work station and pantry
Performs side work during shift downtime including but not limited to rolling silverware, restocking condiment holders, cleaning work areas, etc.
Executes the service cycle and team responsibilities at all times
Maintains sufficient knowledge of the menu to execute suggestive selling with all guests
Writes guest check and/or operates POS equipment pursuant to company policies
Anticipates, identifies and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction
Communicates with managers and co-workers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.
