As a server at Parry's Pizzeria & Taphouse, the role goes beyond traditional food service. This is a sales-driven hospitality position where the server is instrumental in shaping the guest experience from initial greeting through to the final farewell. Servers own their sections and are expected to apply the CHEERS philosophy at every table—this involves a sequence of customer interaction strategies including Cheerful Prompt Greet, Hospitality First approach, Engaging guests through conversation, Easing their needs proactively, managing section flow (Ready for 'Em), and efficiently closing with gratitude and clear payment execution (Swipe That Card - Say Goodbye). The role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and who are adept at building rapport and enhancing sales naturally through knowledgeable menu guidance and thoughtful recommendations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous restaurant or serving experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and nonverbally
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Willingness to learn and improve through coaching

Job Qualifications

  • Restaurant or serving experience preferred, Comfortable selling and making recommendations, Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills, Ability to work nights and weekends, Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs as needed, Professional energetic and guest-focused demeanor, Willingness to learn and apply coaching in real time

Job Duties

  • Apply CHEERS at every table, Guide guests through the menu by explaining layout and highlighting signature items, Make thoughtful recommendations and upsell based on guest preferences, Identify first-time guests and regulars and tailor service accordingly, Communicate guest insights to teammates such as celebrations and timing needs, Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the shift, Complete opening and closing duties accurately and on time
