Job Description
Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse in the United States. Outback Steakhouse, known for its Australian-themed dining experience, opened its doors in March 1988 and has since become a beloved name in casual dining. The company takes great pride in its commitment to quality food and exceptional customer service while fostering a fun and engaging environment both for guests and employees. Out West Restaurant Group embodies these values through its inclusive culture, dedication to treating employees—referred to as "Outbackers"—with respect and fairness, and its ongoing commitment to community service and employee development.
As an Outbacker with Out West Restaurant Group, you will play a key role in delivering an AUS-SOME dining experience that leaves lasting positive impressions on every guest. The company emphasizes a hospitable culture where hard work, teamwork, and perseverance are recognized and rewarded. Employees enjoy a supportive work environment that not only aims to make work fun but also provides meaningful opportunities for career growth. The position offered is hourly and non-exempt, with a wage of $16.90 per hour plus tips, making it a financially rewarding opportunity for motivated individuals seeking flexible scheduling and memorable work experiences.
The role involves interacting directly with customers to ensure they receive friendly, prompt, and attentive service tailored to their preferences. Outbackers are expected to demonstrate strong knowledge of the menu, confidently make recommendations, and handle guest orders accurately. Teamwork is essential in this fast-paced environment; you will help with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining a clean and safe restaurant setting. Adhering to food safety and sanitation standards is paramount. Cash and credit transactions must be handled accurately as part of the responsibilities. Importantly, Out West Restaurant Group offers a culture that values employee well-being with benefits such as comprehensive health insurance options (medical, dental, vision), paid sick leave in accordance with California law, and dedicated time off during major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas to allow employees to enjoy quality time with loved ones.
Additional perks include growth and advancement opportunities through extensive on-the-job training and leadership development programs, such as the Shift Leader program. Employees also benefit from meal discounts and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The company’s dedication to fairness is evident in its compliance with California labor laws, equal pay practices, and reasonable accommodation policies. Out West Restaurant Group puts a strong emphasis on cultivating talent and fostering long-term careers within its organization. If you are seeking a rewarding position in a dynamic restaurant setting where you can grow professionally and be part of a close-knit team, joining Out West Restaurant Group as an Outbacker is an excellent career choice.
