Job Description

TGI Fridays is a leading casual dining restaurant chain known for its vibrant atmosphere, high-quality American cuisine, and commitment to exceptional guest service. Established originally to offer a lively venue for fun and memorable experiences, TGI Fridays has grown to be a popular destination for guests looking to celebrate special moments or enjoy a casual meal with friends and family. With its iconic branding, familiar menu featuring signature dishes and handcrafted cocktails, and energetic environment, the company prides itself on hospitality that makes every guest feel valued and welcome. As a family-driven organization, TGI Fridays blends a strong sense of camaraderie among team members with a focus on delivering restaurant-inspired hospitality to everyone it serves.

The Server Waiter (W/W) role at TGI Fridays is essential to the success of each guest's dining experience. Servers are the face of the restaurant, setting the mood, tone, and overall atmosphere that guests encounter the moment they walk through the door. This role goes beyond just taking orders; it requires passion, knowledge, and a genuine enthusiasm for uplifting service. A successful server at TGI Fridays is attentive, a great listener, and skilled at customizing the dining experience according to guest preferences and needs. The server expertly guides guests through the menu, recommends popular or promotional items, and ensures prompt and accurate service of both food and beverages.

In this role, you rapidly build rapport with guests using authentic smiles and conversational skills that never feel scripted or intrusive. Strong communication abilities allow you to read verbal and visual cues to sense what kind of experience each guest expects, enabling you to tailor your service accordingly. Part of the job also involves adhering to Fridays’ service style standards, efficiently managing orders using the point-of-sale system, and frequently checking on guests to provide attentive yet unobtrusive service. Identifying guests who order alcoholic beverages to politely check IDs is a critical responsibility, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and company policies.

Physical stamina and multitasking skills are important, as servers must stand and walk throughout the entire shift, deliver plates, clear tables, and maintain a neat and professional appearance in company-approved uniforms. The role requires calmness and diplomacy when handling difficult or upset guests, escalating issues appropriately to management when necessary. Additional communication skills include assisting hearing or sight-impaired guests by reading menus aloud or writing notes. Overall, being a TGI Fridays Server means being an ambassador of the brand’s hospitality standards, contributing significantly to an enjoyable and memorable dining experience for all guests. This position is typically full-time or part-time, with competitive hourly pay and the potential for tips, positioning it as a rewarding career opportunity in the casual dining hospitality industry.
