Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Willingness to comply with safety and emergency procedures aboard ship
- Must abstain from alcohol consumption during employment
- Temporary employment for 28 weeks
- Must meet federal and Department of Transportation regulations for shipboard employees
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be an American citizen or Green Card holder
- Able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day for 7 days a week for up to 28 weeks
- Possess physical ability to handle moderate demands including lifting, bending, climbing, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Pass a pre-employment drug test including for marijuana and other controlled substances
- Maintain grooming standards with limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- Possess a positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
Job Duties
- Provide guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience
- Set up and break down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including tables, linens, silverware, china, and glassware
- Cater efficiently to all culinary requests
- Greet guests by name, escort them to tables, present menus, suggest courses and wines, and answer questions
- Relay orders accurately to the galley and serve courses and beverages with presentation and care
- Perform additional duties such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering evening entertainment
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the dining area
