Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred but not required
  • Willingness to work temporary shipboard employment for 28 weeks
  • Ability to perform emergency and safety functions essential to ship operation
  • No consumption of alcohol while on board as per company policy
  • Ability to work long hours, including up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week
  • Pass federal and Department of Transportation required pre-employment drug test

Job Qualifications

  • At least eighteen years of age
  • American citizen or Green Card holder
  • Able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day for 7 days a week for up to 28 weeks
  • Ability to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended standing or walking
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug test including testing for marijuana and other controlled substances
  • Willingness to comply with grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
  • Ability to maintain composure and positive attitude under pressure
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Provide guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience
  • Efficiently set up and break down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including arranging linen, silverware, china, and glassware
  • Cater to culinary requests in an efficient manner
  • Acknowledge guests by name, escort them to their tables, present food and beverage menus, suggest courses and wines, and answer questions
  • Relay orders to the galley and serve courses and beverages ensuring presentation and garnishing
  • Perform additional functions such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering evening entertainment events
