Job Qualifications

  • Must consistently assess, anticipate and meet guests needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the guests overall dining experience
  • must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management
  • must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when more direction or training is needed
  • must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus
  • must work well in a team-oriented environment by establishing good working relationships
  • must understand all Chickies & Petes products and services and be able to understand guests needs clearly
  • must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions requiring moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials
  • must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • must recognize problems when they arise and resolve them appropriately using good judgment, tact and initiative according to company policy
  • must have general accounting and mathematical skills along with point of sale application knowledge
  • must evaluate current practices and processes and initiate improvements where necessary

  • must be flexible and occasionally work overtime or assist others

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a friendly professional manner
  • provide education about Chickies style of service, the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods
  • ensure menu, food preparation and ingredient knowledge in order to address guests food allergy concerns and questions
  • smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
  • perform light food preparation duties when needed
  • follow all Chickies & Petes service standards including up-selling and suggestive selling
  • inform guests of daily specials
  • check food and beverages for quality and presentation, following menu builds, before serving
  • serve food and beverages to guests
  • check identification to ensure that guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • recognize signs of intoxication and handle alcohol-related situations effectively
  • provide food and drink recommendations to guests
  • receive guest payments and process transactions
  • sincerely thank all guests, make them aware of upcoming specials or events and invite them back for another visit soon
  • clear, clean, and reset tables promptly according to proper sanitation standards
  • ensure all condiments and napkin dispensers are clean and well stocked
  • respond appropriately to guest complaints and bring any issues to the attention of a manager
  • perform marketing and other promotional services as needed
  • complete beginning, change and end of shift side duties
  • understand the importance of speed of service and act with sense of urgency when performing job tasks
  • attend all scheduled employee meetings
  • additional tasks as assigned
