Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • three years of prior serving experience in a full-service restaurant
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • excellent oral communication skills
  • positive interpersonal skills
  • ability to speak and write basic English fluently
  • ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods
  • frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • frequent use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills
  • able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly
  • ability to speak and hear
  • close and distance vision

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of cooking, wine, beer, and liquor

Job Duties

  • Prepare, clean, and level tables and ensure side stations are stocked
  • stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen or bar staff are running out of any items
  • present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform customers about food preparation details, and communicate specific customer needs or allergies to the cooks
  • maintain proper dining experience, deliver items, fulfill customer needs, offer desserts and drinks, remove courses, replenish utensils, and refill glasses
  • proper tableside wine service
  • obtain revenues, issue receipts, accept payments, and return change
  • perform basic cleaning tasks and side-work as needed or directed by the supervisor
  • fill in for absent staff as needed
  • assist with special events as needed
  • greet all guests at the door and at the tables warmly with an appropriate greeting
  • adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • understand and communicate distillery products and processes
