Job Requirements

Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
Must be able to work in a team environment
Must meet Denny's uniform and grooming standards and maintain them throughout the shift
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights and weekends
Must possess excellent guest service skills
Must possess basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
Must place a value on diversity and show respect for others

Job Duties

Greet guests immediately upon arrival and acknowledge them at departure
Assist with guest seating using proper arrival order and rotation
Suggestively sell menu items to achieve guest check average targets
Accurately enter orders on the point-of-sale system
Prepare beverages and some appetizers, salads, and desserts
Deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner
Attend to guests throughout their dining experience promptly and courteously
Pre-buss tables and clear, clean, and preset tables after guest departure
Address guest complaints and requests promptly and courteously
Practice safe cash handling and complete credit card and discount transactions accurately
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas
Complete all required side work, including deep cleaning assignments
Adhere to Denny's brand standards and internal policies
