Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of service experience
  • ability to communicate and understand predominant language(s) of guests
  • basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • possess basic math skills
  • ability to handle money and operate Micros system
  • ability to stand for long periods up to 5 hours
  • ability to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing 20 to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests within 30 seconds
  • make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you are there to personally take care of them
  • introduce yourself
  • inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • make recommendations guests will enjoy
  • answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant services
  • take food and beverage orders, enter them into the Micros system, double-check for accuracy
  • deliver food and beverages timely
  • perform side work at the start and end of shifts
  • anticipate guests' needs such as napkins and drink refills
  • build relationships with regulars
  • maintain clean service areas and prebus tables
  • monitor guest dining experience and respond promptly to requests
  • prepare final bills and process payments
  • check back frequently after presenting the check
  • assist fellow servers and bussers as needed
  • thank guests and invite them to return
  • fill in as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operation
