Job Requirements

  • Previous server experience or at least six months in a guest-facing role within the restaurant
  • Must be 18 years or older as required by law
  • Ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Possession of a food handler's card and alcohol awareness certification where applicable
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality guests' experience
  • Welcome and greet guests within two minutes of being seated
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • Offer specific beverage, appetizer, entrée, and dessert recommendations either upon request or based on guest preferences
  • Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in the point-of-sale system before delivering items to the table
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests promptly
  • Clean and prepare the table for the arrival of menu items
  • Perform side work during each shift as required by service station assignment
  • Maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure satisfaction with food and service
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any guest requests
  • Provide proactive beverage refills
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, and process through the POS system or at the table
  • Assist fellow servers proactively
  • Express appreciation to guests, invite them to return
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement
  • Notify manager-on-duty when a guest is not fully satisfied
  • Cover other servers duties during breaks as scheduled
  • Participate in scheduled catering events
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
