Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • US work authorization required
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Six months to one year related experience
  • Experience with Point of Sale system
  • Must take and pass all training tests 90 percent or higher
  • Must obtain California Food Handler Certificate within 30 days from hire date
  • Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service Certificate within 30 days from hire date

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparing restaurant for service
  • Greet all guests and co-workers in a warm, personal, friendly manner
  • Review menus with guests and answer questions about menu items, offering descriptions and making recommendations
  • Inform guests of daily specials including pricing if not listed on the menu
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
  • Follow T S protocol and inform manager on duty for all noted guest allergies
  • Take guests' food and beverage orders and enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff
  • Check guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol
  • Serve food and beverages to guests, taking extra care to perform any additional table-side preparation or service as required
  • Describe and recommend wines to guests
  • bring selection to table with appropriate glasses and pour
  • Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Remove dishes and glasses from tables, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
  • Prepare table for next guest
  • Prepare certain hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • Perform food preparation duties as required such as preparing side salads and desserts
  • Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving as required
  • Prepare and present guest checks, ensuring any special requests are followed, and collect corresponding payments
  • Assist the entire service team throughout meal period to ensure all guest expectations are exceeded
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens
  • Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers
  • Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance
