Job Requirements
- Education equivalent to A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate
- Culinary leadership experience, especially in sushi or high volume kitchens
- Proven sushi knife skills and knowledge of sushi techniques
- Experience handling complex foodservice operations
- Ability to manage food cost controls and inventory
- Flexibility to work 8:00 am to 6:00 pm with occasional evening catering events
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate with relevant experience
- Progressive culinary and kitchen leadership experience, preferably in sushi focused or high volume environments
- Strong sushi knife skills and knowledge of traditional and contemporary sushi techniques
- Experience in complex foodservice operations
- Catering experience preferred
- Knowledge of food trends, quality standards, production, sanitation, and food cost controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and general computer systems
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Support the Campus Executive Chef with oversight of sushi and kitchen operations across campus cafes
- Lead daily sushi preparation and execution, maintaining high standards for quality, freshness, and presentation
- Assist with planning and developing sushi and Asian inspired menu offerings to support program growth
- Supervise and mentor hourly culinary associates
- Manage food cost controls, inventory, and ordering processes
- Support sushi production for catering, including action stations and high level C suite events
- Execute catering functions with precision, creativity, and professionalism
