Job Requirements
- Associate's degree
- Four years of experience in environmental science, public works or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Valid state driver's license
- Must possess Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI)
- Ability to supervise staff and manage daily operations
- Knowledge of stormwater compliance standards and construction site management
- Physical ability to perform medium work including lifting 20 to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed
- Commitment to ADA compliance and ability to perform job duties with reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Four years experience in environmental science, public works or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Valid state driver’s license
- Certification as a Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI)
- Ability to supervise staff
- Knowledge of stormwater regulations and compliance enforcement
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Preferred certifications include FAA Part 107 Certified Drone Pilot, Certified Stormwater Plan Reviewer (CSPR), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), and NASSCO Pipeline, Lateral and Manhole Assessment Certification
Job Duties
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals
- Coordinates, assigns, and reviews work and establishes work schedules
- maintains standards
- monitors status of work in progress
- inspects completed work assignments
- answers questions
- gives advice and direction as needed
- Implements construction site stormwater runoff control requirements of the SWMP
- Notifies responsible parties of violations and of necessary corrective measures
- recommends solutions to problems and provides necessary follow-up to verify compliance
- issues stop work orders for non-compliance as required
- Receives and responds to public inquiries, requests for assistance and complaints regarding construction projects and other land disturbance incidents
- Conducts construction site operator training
- Assists in preparing the MS4 annual report to DHEC
- Supports the Stormwater Compliance Manager with day-to-day duties
- Performs related work as assigned
