Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • Four years of experience in environmental science, public works or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Must possess Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI)
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage daily operations
  • Knowledge of stormwater compliance standards and construction site management
  • Physical ability to perform medium work including lifting 20 to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed
  • Commitment to ADA compliance and ability to perform job duties with reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree
  • Four years experience in environmental science, public works or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Certification as a Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI)
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Knowledge of stormwater regulations and compliance enforcement
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred certifications include FAA Part 107 Certified Drone Pilot, Certified Stormwater Plan Reviewer (CSPR), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), and NASSCO Pipeline, Lateral and Manhole Assessment Certification

Job Duties

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals
  • Coordinates, assigns, and reviews work and establishes work schedules
  • maintains standards
  • monitors status of work in progress
  • inspects completed work assignments
  • answers questions
  • gives advice and direction as needed
  • Implements construction site stormwater runoff control requirements of the SWMP
  • Notifies responsible parties of violations and of necessary corrective measures
  • recommends solutions to problems and provides necessary follow-up to verify compliance
  • issues stop work orders for non-compliance as required
  • Receives and responds to public inquiries, requests for assistance and complaints regarding construction projects and other land disturbance incidents
  • Conducts construction site operator training
  • Assists in preparing the MS4 annual report to DHEC
  • Supports the Stormwater Compliance Manager with day-to-day duties
  • Performs related work as assigned
