  • bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience in safety and/or environmental programs
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • experience with lean principles
  • experience in people management

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
  • 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • ability to manage safety operations comprising salaried and hourly staff
  • experience in developing others into higher levels of responsibility

Job Duties

  • act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy
  • provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon Safety Policies
  • measure site performance against published requirements in safety policies
  • identify and implement plans to fix identified safety deficiencies
  • ensure safety record keeping and data integrity
  • provide operations with accurate reporting and metrics to support business safety initiatives
  • deliver on-time and quality projects to operations
  • analyze safety metrics and review incident trends
  • propose action plans to senior leadership
  • audit record keeping practices and global safety database entries
  • audit workplace organization and associate behaviors
  • manage and mentor safety managers and safety associates
  • engage Injury Prevention Specialists and site leadership to reduce incidents
  • perform targeted Kaizen events with operations teams
  • ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of safety responsibilities
  • audit quality, delivery, and effectiveness of safety training
  • review and revise deployed safety tools for continuous improvement
  • partner with corporate and regional field safety personnel to leverage best practices
