Job Description
Aparium Hotel Group is an innovative hospitality company known for its unique approach to hotel management and guest experience. Founded in 2011, Aparium distinguishes itself by combining the operational strengths of large hospitality firms with the intimate charm and character of boutique hotels. With a focus on unearthing the unique moments and cultural elements of every city where they operate, Aparium has built a reputation for hotels that celebrate people, place, and character. Recognized by Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards as a leading hotel brand, Aparium prides itself on its ability to operate in smaller, bustling markets with a philosophy that ventures off the beaten path geographically and philosophically. They emphasize a collaborative culture rooted in respect, integrity, and innovation, shunning traditional 'old school' hospitality methods in favor of a modern approach that values every team member's contribution and fosters a diverse and inclusive environment.
One of Aparium's flagship properties, Hotel Heron, is located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, offering a contemporary yet historically rich experience. Originally the George Mason Hotel established in 1926, Hotel Heron has been thoughtfully reimagined to blend its historic charm with modern amenities, including state-of-the-art fitness facilities, elevated guest rooms, versatile event spaces, and distinct dining and entertainment venues such as a signature restaurant, craft cocktail bar, and a seasonal rooftop bar with sweeping views of the Potomac. As part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, Hotel Heron combines the best of local flavor with international standards, inviting travelers both local and global to explore Alexandria's heritage and vibrant culture.
The Senior Sales Manager role at Aparium, reporting directly to the Director of Sales, is a pivotal position responsible for driving the hotel’s market share and revenue performance. This role demands a proactive sales professional skilled in networking, client engagement, and negotiation, with a deep understanding of the hospitality sales landscape, particularly in segments such as SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal), leisure, government, and entertainment markets. The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new accounts, managing existing customer relationships, and implementing strategic sales plans that align with Aparium’s business goals. This position is integral in fostering trusting relationships both internally with the hotel team and externally with clients and key stakeholders.
A successful Senior Sales Manager at Aparium is a motivated self-starter who thrives on achieving financial results and is passionate about hospitality sales. The role requires someone who challenges conventions, works collaboratively with peers, and embraces Aparium’s core values of people, place, and character. Candidates must be adaptable communicators able to engage a wide range of audiences effectively and are expected to uphold the company’s commitment to transparent and ethical business practices. The role includes sophisticated business analysis, competitor research, and market trend monitoring to ensure pricing strategies and sales efforts maximize revenue and achieve market leadership.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team within a respected hospitality group that values innovation, inclusivity, and integrity. Aparium provides an enriching work environment that champions diversity and fosters professional growth. The Senior Sales Manager will benefit from collaboration across departments and will contribute to the broader company vision of redefining hospitality experiences that honor local culture and deliver exceptional service. While this position is with a hotel owned and operated by an independent franchisee, employees are part of a vibrant hospitality culture committed to excellence and authentic guest engagement. Compensation and benefits will be determined by the franchisee employer.
