The Senior Sales Manager position at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Philadelphia Center City is a pivotal role designed for an experienced sales professional looking to contribute to the hotel's dynamic sales team. This full-time, salaried role comes with participation in Hilton's sales incentive plan and offers potential for limited remote work days based on performance after the initial 90 days. The position requires availability during regular office hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility to extend into early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays to support the group's sales efforts. As a Senior Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving group sales initiatives, cultivating new leads through proactive outreach and database research, and maintaining strong relationships with existing key accounts. Your role will encompass developing market segment strategies, especially in Association, Education, and Entertainment sectors, analyzing market trends, and implementing targeted marketing initiatives to maximize revenue and profitability.

Success in this role demands strong leadership skills, a proven history of exceeding sales goals, and the ability to negotiate and secure contracts that meet the hotel’s financial objectives. You will actively engage with Hilton Worldwide Sales teams, industry tradeshows, and customer events to broaden the hotel's market reach, deliver compelling site inspections using storytelling to engage prospects, and maintain meticulous records using the Delphi FDC lead management system. The role's responsibilities include coordinating customer's event specifications, conducting outside sales calls, and crafting strategic business plans on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure the hotel's continued success in the competitive urban market.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five years of senior sales management experience in full-service hotels
  • Strong leadership and sales skills
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Competence in using lead management and sales software
  • Excellent communication and networking abilities
  • Must be able to work primarily on-property with potential limited remote work
  • Ability to develop and implement business strategies based on market analysis
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of key hotel market segments
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred but not required.

Job Duties

  • Research, solicit and generate new leads for group opportunities through database research and proactive sales efforts, maximizing new room revenue streams
  • Represent the hotel in the development of market segments and new customer relationships while maintaining existing relations with assigned accounts
  • Develop a business strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel and market trends, implementing marketing initiatives to capture maximum lead revenue
  • Apply strong sales skills to create customer value and differentiate Hilton from the competition
  • Engage in outside sales calls, industry tradeshows and customer events
  • Develop, execute and communicate monthly, quarterly and annual business plans for designated markets
  • Maintain up-to-date pipeline of business opportunities that meet short and long-term objectives
  • Represent hotel in all interactions dealing with customers including creating business proposals and executing contracts
  • Conduct site inspections through masterful storytelling based on customer needs
  • Coordinate customer specifications via identified lead management system
  • Negotiate contracts and commission agreements with end-user customers and intermediaries
  • Engage Hilton Worldwide Sales and Legal teams to support contracting process when needed.
