The role of Senior Sales Manager at Aimbridge Hospitality is a critical position responsible for achieving assigned sales and revenue goals that directly impact the overall success of the hotel. This position involves proactively soliciting and securing new accounts while working closely with the Director of Sales to meet and exceed revenue objectives tailored to one or more properties. Depending on the specific property assignment, the sales focus may vary, including segments such as Leisure, Business Travel, Group, and SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal). The Senior Sales Manager also plays a key role in mentoring and training sales team members, ensuring a cohesive and motivated sales force. The job demands strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks independently, and excellent communication capabilities to negotiate, sell, and influence clients and hotel management personnel. This management-level position requires flexibility in working hours, including overtime when necessary, to fulfill responsibilities comprehensively. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in hotel sales
- Valid driver’s license for the applicable state
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to work overtime as required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Safe driving record
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of previous hotel sales experience
- Valid driver’s license for the applicable state
- Developed verbal and written communication skills for negotiating, convincing, selling, and influencing managerial personnel, hotel guests, and/or corporate clients
- Experience with professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, and closing
- Proficiency in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong organization and presentation skills
Job Duties
- Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals, as well as solicitation call goals, while also training/mentoring others to do the same
- Proactively conduct solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT) and/or Groups, as applicable by property
- Monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality's established regulations, company standards, sales standards and sales metrics related
- Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments
- Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations, as applicable
- May assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct sales segments i.e. sales blitzes, etc.
- Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management
- Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales
- Access to back of house areas of the hotel and sensitive information
- Interact and occasionally have unsupervised contact with guests and/or colleagues
- Access and control to sensitive areas in the hotel premises, including the Hotel Safe, Master Keys and/or guestrooms, Storage/Liquor Room, and secured file cabinets
- Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons
- Maintain a high level of trust and responsibility
- Represent the company with certain level of reputation and good character as well as exercise sound judgement
