Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Seven plus years of experience in safety and or environmental programs
  • Seven plus years of experience in people and performance management
  • Experience with lean principles and process improvements in operations
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent
  • Office located within one of the designated region's sites or willingness to relocate
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including nights and weekends as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Seven plus years of increasing responsibilities in safety or environmental programs in relevant operational environments
  • Seven plus years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze safety data and develop effective safety strategies
  • Experience mentoring and developing safety teams
  • Familiarity with local, regional, and federal safety regulations
  • Experience with auditing and compliance management

Job Duties

  • Act as SME of local and regional regulations and company WHS policy
  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS policies
  • Measure the regions and sites performance against published requirements in WHS policies and identify plans to address deficiencies
  • Ensure WHS recordkeeping and data integrity and provide operations with accurate reporting and metrics
  • Deliver on-time and quality projects to operations
  • Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to allocate resources to high-risk areas
  • Audit recordkeeping practices and WHS database entries for compliance
  • Audit workplace organization and associate behaviors to ensure training and auditing methods are accurate
  • Manage and mentor FC WHS managers and associates
  • Spend time at fulfillment centers to gather input for WHS program improvements
  • Lead soft tissue injury reduction efforts by performing targeted kaizens with operations teams
  • Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable about WHS responsibilities
  • Audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of WHS training
  • Review and revise deployed WHS tools for continual improvement
  • Partner with corporate and regional WHS personnel to leverage global best practices into NA network standards
