Job Requirements
- bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, service operations, or relevant experience
- 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management
- experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
- ability to travel up to 50%
- office within one of the designated region's sites and willingness to relocate if not currently within region
- willingness to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends
- strong communication skills
- ability to build trust and influence cross-functional teams
Job Qualifications
- bachelor’s degree
- experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in operational environments
- certified safety professional preferred
- master’s degree preferred
- experience in fast-paced, dynamic organizations
- proven track record in managing safety operations with salaried and hourly staff
- excellent experience in developing leadership
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy
- provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS policies
- measure the regions and sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies
- identify plans for sites to implement and fix all identified deficiencies
- ensure WHS recordkeeping and data integrity and provide accurate reporting and metrics to support business WHS initiatives
- deliver on-time and quality projects to operations
- analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to allocate resources where safety risk is highest
- audit recordkeeping practices and global WHS database entries to ensure compliance
- audit workplace organization and associate behaviors to ensure accurate and consistent training, auditing, and scoring
- manage and mentor FC WHS managers and associates
- spend time at fulfillment centers to seek input on WHS program improvements and ensure communication on progress
- lead soft tissue injury reduction efforts by performing targeted Kaizens with operations teams
- ensure site leadership and associates are trained on their responsibilities under each policy and audit the quality and effectiveness of training
- review and improve WHS tools for continual improvement
- partner with corporate and other regional WHS personnel to leverage global best practices into network standards
