Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • three years of directly related experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Answers telephone promptly and courteously, takes accurate and complete messages, forwards or answers inquiries as appropriate
  • schedules all patients according to policy and procedures
  • collects, verifies and performs insurance eligibility into the practice management system
  • collects co-payments or old balances and provides written receipts for all payment transactions
  • makes patient record available to physician or clinical staff, as needed
  • prepares EMR for new patients to include all essential patient information, verifies and updates existing patients annually
  • scans all patient information into appropriate area in practice management system
  • balances and closes cash drawer, downloads appropriate documentation into designated files
  • ensures supplies, equipment, and work environment are kept clean, well stocked, and organized at all times
  • phones, electronically submits, or faxes prescriptions/refills to pharmacies
  • identify front office issues and recommend solutions to Practice Manager
  • report patient concerns and/or complaints to Practice Manager
  • attend periodic training/meetings pertinent to position
  • perform other duties as assigned
