The Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead position within RTX's Land Air Defense Systems (LADS) Engineering Execution Department is a pivotal onsite role based in Tucson, Arizona. This role centers around leading the Coyote Block 3 plus (CB3+) Launcher Product Team. The IPT Lead is responsible for the overall technical integrity, cost management, and schedule adherence of this critical defense product. This role demands close collaboration across multiple disciplines including design, procurement, production, and testing to ensure successful product development and deployment. The IPT Lead will oversee the development, validation, and integration of the Technical Data Package (TDP) and manage technical risks associated with the hardware. Additionally, the role involves managing failure investigations, submitting engineering change proposals, and interfacing with both internal teams and external suppliers or customers. Traveling up to 25% of the time is expected to facilitate coordination with suppliers, customers, and testing sites. This role requires an individual with strong leadership skills, technical acumen in mechanical engineering or hardware system design, and the ability to operate within a secure government environment.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens eligible for and able to obtain an Interim Secret DoD security clearance prior to start, highlighting the security-sensitive nature of this position. The salary range for this position is estimated between $132,400 and $251,600 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • Must be U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in technical leadership role with Earned Value Management System
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Must be able to work onsite in Tucson, Arizona

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) typically required
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in a technical leadership role as an Integrated Product Team Lead or Cost Account Manager using Earned Value Management System
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team and collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines related to design, procurement, and production for military applications
  • Experience in requirements development and management, trade studies, development and design, integration, and test of mechanical engineering products
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in mechanical engineering or hardware system design preferred
  • Experience with missile and launcher development and production preferred
  • Experience with transitions from low-rate initial production to full rate production preferred
  • Experience working with suppliers of mechanical products, machined parts, and electronics preferred
  • Experience with proposal development and new business capture preferred
  • Program Manager Certification level six or ability to obtain within first year preferred
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills preferred

Job Duties

  • Be responsible for the technical integrity of the Coyote Block 3+ Launcher Product Team and associated hardware including the Technical Data Package development, validation, and integration
  • Manage cost and schedule of work and team execution including Cost Account Management responsibilities and Estimate at Complete support
  • Manage the technical risk for the hardware including Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Lead and/or provide technical oversight of failure investigations including assigning Failure Investigation Team members
  • Submit Engineering Change Proposals to request funding for corrective action implementation and support Engineering Review Board and Change Control Board
  • Identify and manage staffing needs for the Product Team
  • Recognize team accomplishments through available recognition programs
  • Work primarily in an office environment with labs and field work based on program phase
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers for procuring and demonstrating capabilities in lab or field environments
  • Travel up to 25% to customer, suppliers, and testing locations
  • Collaborate with functional and program management
