Job Description

City of Suffolk, VA is seeking a Principal Planner to join their Planning & Community Development department. The role involves performing technical and professional planning, administration, and research work related to environmental issues, including Chesapeake Bay Preservation Areas, wetlands, and flood hazard areas. The employee will coordinate various environmental programs, review development applications, and ensure compliance with land use codes and ordinances. This position reports to the Department Director.
