Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • ability to conduct daily banquet walk-throughs
  • skills in managing budgets and expenses
  • capability to develop vendor relationships
  • strong problem-solving and customer service skills
  • effective communication and leadership skills
  • ability to execute departmental emergency procedures and staff training
  • participation in corrective action plans
  • attendance at meetings

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Plan and execute meetings and special events
  • assist in implementation of departmental strategies
  • manage execution of all property events ensuring smooth turnover between sales and operations
  • research and analyze competitive products, pricing, and services
  • conduct daily banquet floor walkthroughs to ensure client satisfaction and quality
  • develop relationships with outside vendors and support pricing and service agreements
  • identify opportunities to upsell during event planning
  • manage department controllable expenses to meet budget goals
  • create an atmosphere that exceeds guest expectations
  • interact with guests to obtain feedback and resolve complaints
  • empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • communicate and execute emergency procedures and ensure safety training
  • observe and provide feedback on employee service behaviors
  • lead staff discussions and participate in corrective action plans
  • review staffing levels to meet guest service and operational needs
  • attend and participate in all relevant meetings
