Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in health and safety role
  • Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Certification for health, safety, and environment in designated country required
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ISO standards, and internal audits
  • Understanding of DOT compliance and EPA regulations required
  • Ability to travel 50-70% within the United States
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in developing and delivering health and safety training programs

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health preferred
  • Certification in health, safety, and environment for designated country
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a health and safety role preferably in warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in developing and administering health and safety programs
  • Familiarity with country specific health and safety standards including OSHA, ISO, and internal audit qualifications
  • Understanding of DOT compliance and EPA environmental regulations

Job Duties

  • Identify, develop, and maintain company health and safety management systems, training programs, and procedures in line with all current legislation for the assigned country
  • Perform monthly safety inspections and maintenance
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards related to dangerous goods and electric vehicles, including the development and implementation of handling, storage, and inspection protocols
  • Represent the company at external audits on all health and safety matters
  • Ensure compliance to audit standards and work with auditors and vendors to answer findings and complaints in a timely, efficient and professional manner
  • Design and develop written health and safety procedures
  • Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements
  • Provide technical safety and health support and information to all employees
  • Coordinate risk assessment activities including record keeping
  • Analyze risk assessment, near miss and accident data to present to senior management
  • Develop long term strategies to reduce accidents that are data driven
  • Investigate accidents including gathering documentation, liaising with insurance companies, solicitors, and other related organizations in pursuit of insurance claims
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to reduce workplace accidents and incidents including assessment of training activities
  • Administer mandatory safety training ensuring all employees, agency employees, contractors, visitors and transferred employees receive proper training
  • Represent the company at internal safety meetings, customer or supplier safety meetings presenting data, recording actions, and monitoring progress
  • Work with operational teams to improve the working environment and reduce employee exposure to hazards
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards
  • Review plans and specifications for new machinery, equipment or processes to ensure safety requirements are met
  • Manage and support documentation related to material handling equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
