Known for its commitment to quality and nurturing a sense of belonging, Woodhaven Village serves as a trusted home for seniors seeking comfort, dignity, and a supportive environment. Being part of Woodhaven Village means joining an organization that holds its employees in high esteem, recognizing that their dedication directly influences the community's quality and success.
The role of the Cook at Woodhaven Village is integral to the well-being and satisfaction of the residents. This full-time position offers a competitive wage of $17.00 per hour and working hours from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving wholesome, nutritious, and visually appealing meals that meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Reporting directly to the Dining Services Director, this role requires a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to food safety protocols. You will use high-quality ingredients and adhere to recipe specifications to ensure consistent product quality while managing food costs responsibly.
Beyond meal preparation, the Cook is accountable for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment, complying with all state and local regulations. This includes monitoring and recording food and storage temperatures, properly labeling and storing food items, and controlling waste and overproduction. The role also encompasses general kitchen maintenance duties such as washing and sanitizing equipment, cleaning the cooking areas, and handling inventory and vendor supplies efficiently.
The Cook position demands physical stamina and the ability to perform various tasks like lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for extended periods, bending, and walking. Positive interpersonal skills are crucial as you will be expected to interact courteously and diplomatically with residents, associates, and team members. Woodhaven Village encourages a professional appearance and personal hygiene while fostering a collaborative work environment. Participation in resident-centered activities, committees, and ongoing in-service education reflects the community's commitment to employee growth and active engagement.
Full-time employees benefit from an excellent package including paid time off, holiday pay, daily pay options for financial flexibility, health and dental insurance, a 401K retirement plan with employer matching, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, referral bonuses, tuition reimbursement, and an employee assistance program. This supportive benefits structure underlines Woodhaven Village's commitment to its staff, encouraging career development and work-life balance.
Joining Woodhaven Village offers not only a rewarding career in a respected senior living community but also a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. The community is an equal opportunity employer and strongly supports compliance with all federal employment laws, providing a fair and welcoming work environment for all applicants.
