Job Requirements

  • 10-15+ years experience in interior design or construction projects
  • bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or related field
  • knowledge of systems furniture specifications, building codes and ADA requirements
  • certified or licensed by NCARB or NCIDQ preferred
  • excellent attention to detail
  • ability to work hands-on
  • proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD
  • understanding of construction best practices and codes
  • knowledge of hospitality design standards and operations
  • proven organizational and multitasking skills
  • experience managing FF&E deliverables and vendor coordination
  • ability to manage design concepts to completion on time and within budget
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • proficient in Microsoft Office

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • 10-15+ years experience in design and space planning for interior or construction projects
  • Knowledge of systems furniture specifications, building codes, and ADA requirements
  • Licenses or certifications from NCARB or NCIDQ highly preferred
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling programs like Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospitality design standards
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proven experience managing FF&E specification deliverables and vendor relationships
  • Ability to manage projects within budget and schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency
  • Ability to read design plans and create presentation boards

Job Duties

  • Partner with architects and in-house design team to develop design and specifications for hotel properties
  • Develop design and specifications independently as necessary
  • Create FF&E schedules and specifications using design software
  • Ensure contractors deliver high-quality products that meet hotel standards
  • Research materials and methods for constructability, cost, quality, and schedule concerns
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with team members and vendors
  • Observe and communicate hospitality market trends
  • Assist in project development from inception through construction administration
  • Coordinate and oversee project lifecycle including PIP and CAPEX projects
  • Manage projects from conception through completion
  • Develop and deliver presentations and design documentation
  • Manage design schedules to meet milestone dates
  • Develop construction plans and assist in contractor selection
  • Oversee architectural design and construction including bidding and cost management
  • Conduct market research and facilitate design review meetings
  • Approve design specifications and develop purchase justifications
  • Review proposals and coordinate with field personnel during pre-construction
  • Conduct site inspections for compliance with design and codes
  • Review contractor performance and authorize payments
  • Identify and address non-conforming work
  • Manage workflow and communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Advise on vendor bids and coordinate procurement budgeting
  • Experience with scope writing and RFPs
  • Interpret design documentation and handle RFIs and redline documents
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory codes and LEED requirements
  • Perform construction administration and punch lists
  • Mentor and train internal team members
  • Collaborate with internal teams for deliverables and work oversight
  • Prompt response to communications
  • Conduct property visits for meetings, inspections, and documentation
