St. John's Regional Medical Center, located in Oxnard, California, is a distinguished healthcare institution recognized nationally for its exceptional cardiac care and overall medical services. As part of Dignity Health's Southern California Division and a member of CommonSpirit Health—the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in the United States—this hospital exemplifies commitment to quality, safety, and service. Patients at St. John's benefit from a comprehensive healthcare network supported by top-tier physicians and extensive outpatient services. The hospital's mission to serve the community is also backed by a philanthropic foundation dedicated to meeting growing healthcare needs. The environment at St. John's encourages a collaborative, compassionate approach to patient care, underpinned by an integrated team of healthcare professionals striving for excellence.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and meticulous Senior Housekeeper to join our team and play a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and health standards of our facility. This position is critical in ensuring that all areas—including patient rooms, common spaces, and specialized zones—are sanitized according to stringent healthcare protocols. As a Senior Housekeeper, you will directly contribute to the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors by enforcing rigorous cleaning and disinfection procedures. Your responsibilities will include managing cleaning operations, handling biohazardous waste safely, replenishing essential supplies, as well as operating heavy-duty cleaning machinery and specialized tools.
This role requires a highly responsible individual who thrives in a healthcare setting and understands the importance of environmental hygiene in patient recovery and staff safety. You will interact tactfully and empathetically with healthcare staff, patients, and visitors while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Your ability to respond quickly and efficiently to cleaning requests will help maintain the hospital's reputation for impeccable cleanliness. In return, St. John’s offers competitive pay within the range of $24.00 to $27.35 per hour, and the position is represented by SEIU UHW, covered by the collective bargaining agreement terms.
