Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • commercial rotorcraft license with instrument rating
  • precision vertical reference long line and human external cargo experience
  • minimum 10 years of professional helicopter flight experience
  • at least 3,500 hours of helicopter PIC flight time
  • ability to maintain FAA class II flight physical
  • willingness to work flexible hours and overtime
  • strong communication and decision-making skills
  • ability to operate in high-risk conditions
  • availability for continuous training and education
  • authorized to work in the United States
  • pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening as per company policy

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of full-time professional helicopter flight experience
  • at least 3,500 hours of helicopter pilot-in-command flight time
  • commercial rotorcraft license with instrument rating
  • precision vertical reference long line and human external cargo experience
  • ability to exercise independent decision-making within safety systems
  • excellent communication skills with diverse teams
  • strong training and presentation skills
  • willingness to work in high-risk flight operations
  • maintain FAA class II flight physical
  • competency with required software and equipment
  • commitment to continuous education and corporate training
  • preferred ATP certification
  • preferred 3,500 hours of turbine helicopter PIC time
  • preferred 100 hours of multi-engine turbine time
  • preferred 250 hours of night or NVG time

Job Duties

  • Serve as pilot-in-command for SRP's fleet of multi-engine helicopters
  • fly diverse missions including powerline patrol, construction, wildlife surveys, water measurement, snow surveys, communication site support, crew hauls, Lidar mapping, watershed tours, corporate/VIP transport, and external loads
  • operate in complex airspace and remote sites across Arizona
  • perform takeoffs and landings from varied environments including urban helipads and unprepared landing zones
  • handle challenging conditions such as high-density altitudes and brownout/whiteout scenarios
  • train non-flight employees in helicopter flight safety and crew resource management
  • ground handle, load, and refuel helicopters
  • perform non-flying tasks assigned by the flight department manager
