Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
- Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in business administration, marketing, hotel and restaurant management, or related major
- 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to work full time
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years in sales, marketing, guest services or related area
- OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with 2 years experience
- Preferred large group sales experience
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Knowledge of market trends and competitive landscape
- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships
- Proficiency in sales forecasting and budgeting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in hospitality or related industry
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams
- Commitment to customer service excellence
Job Duties
- Acts as the on-property liaison for group sales within peak room parameters
- Contracts and closes group business
- Conducts site inspections
- Verifies timely and proper business turnover for quality service delivery
- Achieves group revenue goals by upselling business opportunities
- Implements brand service strategy and loyalty initiatives
- Collaborates with Area Sales, Event Management, and Operations
- Develops group sales revenue and operational budgets
- Provides accurate forecasting reports
- Participates in pre- and post-convention meetings
- Ensures seamless turnover from sales to operations
- Monitors resolution of guest issues from sales process
- Executes Marriott Customer Service and Brand Standards
- Builds and strengthens relationships with customers
- Develops community relationships for expanding sales
- Supports group sales marketing plan and promotions
- Monitors same day selling procedures to maximize revenue
- Performs additional duties as assigned
