Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in business administration, marketing, hotel and restaurant management, or related major
  • 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Willingness to work full time
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years in sales, marketing, guest services or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with 2 years experience
  • Preferred large group sales experience
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Knowledge of market trends and competitive landscape
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting and budgeting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in hospitality or related industry
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams
  • Commitment to customer service excellence

Job Duties

  • Acts as the on-property liaison for group sales within peak room parameters
  • Contracts and closes group business
  • Conducts site inspections
  • Verifies timely and proper business turnover for quality service delivery
  • Achieves group revenue goals by upselling business opportunities
  • Implements brand service strategy and loyalty initiatives
  • Collaborates with Area Sales, Event Management, and Operations
  • Develops group sales revenue and operational budgets
  • Provides accurate forecasting reports
  • Participates in pre- and post-convention meetings
  • Ensures seamless turnover from sales to operations
  • Monitors resolution of guest issues from sales process
  • Executes Marriott Customer Service and Brand Standards
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with customers
  • Develops community relationships for expanding sales
  • Supports group sales marketing plan and promotions
  • Monitors same day selling procedures to maximize revenue
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
